Membership

Looking to join online? The membership elves are on their annual July vacation. They will be back on the job starting August 1. At that time you can join HATDS for the new membership year that officially begins September 1.

Join online with a credit card (with or without a Paypal account) or

  1. fill out the form,
  2. print the review page, and
  3. bring the printout to a dance or mail it in.

We encourage you to fill out the online form rather than a handwritten form, even if you don't use PayPal, as that prevents data entry errors by someone who has to read and then type in your data.

Overview

HATDS is a membership organization, although membership is not required for attendance at our dances.

Dues support the administration of HATDS such as web hosting, name badges, supplies for the dances, insurance, and sound equipment maintenance and replacement. Dues also provide us with a cushion when dances do not break even, as is often the case.

In return for their support, members receive a discount at regular dances and at Bayou Bedlam. Members receive a special name tag for use at the dances, have voting privileges, and may serve on our board of directors.

HATDS is a 501(c)3 educational organization. Donations and even annual dues given to HATDS may be tax deductible (depends our your situation).

Membership is limited to adults age 18 or older, with discounts given for students and seniors. Kids younger than 18 are always welcome at our dances at no charge.

The HATDS membership year is September 1st through August 31st. Memberships created or renewed in August are effective immediately and are good through the following August.

To qualify for the Senior Household rate, one member of that household must be 65 or older.

How to Join

We prefer that you join online using PayPal, or fill in the form online, print it out, and mail it or bring it to a dance, as that reduces data entry errors. However, membership forms are also available at any dance.
