Getting Involved
HATDS is an all-volunteer organization; there simply would be no dances of any kind without several people volunteering a little bit of their time.
Would you like to get involved in helping Houston's contra dance community prosper and grow?
You can start by helping at a dance. This is the easiest and most important way that you can help your dance community.
You could also help on the Bayou Bedlam Committee. Open to all, the BB Committee plans our annual dance weekend event. Help is also needed at the Bayou Bedlam event itself.
To volunteer for any of the jobs above, contact the board of directors.
There are other jobs that require more of a committment. The Board of Directors consists of five people who commit to a year of overseeing the affairs of HATDS. The jobs of newsletter editor, web site administrator, and booking agent are generally held by a single person for a period of a year or more.
