About This Site

Untitled document

If you're looking for the site map, it's here.

We are fortunate to have two talented and generous graphic designers and photographers in our dance community, Lauren Singer and Jan Bloom. Not only does their work appear on this site, but also on anything else HATDS-related: t-shirts, tote bags, aprons, fliers, letterhead, and business cards. HATDS would be much poorer without them.

We are grateful to everyone else who has contributed photographs or videos, including Bill Teas, Morris Rapaport, and Keith Holmes.

Each of the graphics on this site is copyrighted by the creator of the work and is used with permission.

To report an error — no matter how small — or to make a suggestion or to comment about this web site, please email our web dancer.

The HATDS web site is made possible by membership dues. If you are not a member, please consider joining!

Technical details

This site is coded to internationally accepted standards and should display just dandy in any modern, up-to-date web browser on a monitor displaying 1024 by 768 pixels or better. It should be quite readable and useful, although maybe not pretty, on older browsers and monitors.

No tables were abused in the creation of this site.

You can change the look of this site by using the style switcher in the upper right hand corner.

There is a little bit of Javascript used, mostly for the music and video players, and sometimes in forms (such as the Bayou Bedlam registration form) for validation and calculations. Javascript is also used to help pages display correctly in Internet Explorer, especially versions 6 and below.

Privacy

Cookies are used in two ways:

  • The content management system that runs this site sets one or two session cookies. These cookies are deleted when you close your browser window.

  • A session cookie is sometimes used on registration forms that span multiple pages, such as the Bayou Bedlam registration. This allows us to remember your information from page to page. This cookie is deleted when you complete your registration or close your browser window, whichever happens first.

  • The style switcher sets a persistent cookie that allows your computer to remember your settings. This cookie will stay on your computer for a year or until you delete it, whichever comes first. If your style settings are not being saved between sessions, check your privacy or cookie settings in your browser. You may need to specifically allow 'hatds.org' to store cookies until they expire.

We do not use any web beacons, tracking software or services, or cookies (other than stated above), either on our web site or email reminders.

Information that you give us through registration forms stays with us and is never sold or given to any other individual or organization, including contra dance groups. There are two exceptions to this:

  • The membership roster, which is mailed to members only. You have the opportunity to prevent your contact details from being printed on that roster.

  • We often create a roster of Bayou Bedlam attendees and share it with those attendees. When you register, you have the opportunity to opt-out of your information being disseminated.

While I dance I cannot judge, I cannot hate, I cannot separate myself from life. I can only be joyful and whole. That is why I dance.
