HATDS produces at least two special contra dance events each year, Bayou Bedlam and the Holiday Ball. They each have their own pages; click on a graphic to check them out!
Other Special Events
We occasionally have a "double dance"—an afternoon dance, a potluck dinner, and an evening dance. Double dances are usually scheduled when an out-of-state band or caller visits the area.
Each of the Texas contra groups produces a contra dance weekend featuring nationally-acclaimed bands and callers. In addition to the contra dance weekends, an annual English Country Dance weekend is becoming a tradition. For information on these weekend-long events, see our Texas Dance Weekends page.
