Membership
HATDS is a membership organization, although membership is not required for attendance at our dances.
Membership dues support the administration of HATDS. Web hosting, newsletter printing and mailing, and supplies for the dances are some of the items supported by dues.
Members receive a discount at regular dances and at Bayou Bedlam. Members also receive our newsletter, have voting privileges, and may serve on our board of directors.
The HATDS Membership Year runs from September 1st through August 31st.
Current Membership Rates
Full year (September through August)
- Individual: $20.00
- Household: $30.00
- Senior (65+), student (16-25) with ID: $10.00
- Senior Household: $15.00
Half year: (if joining after February)
- Individual $10.00
- Household $15.00
- Senior (65+), student (16-25) with ID: $5.00
- Senior Household: $7.50
To qualify for the Senior Household rate, one member of that household must be 65 or older.
Donations
HATDS is a 501(c)(3) organization. Membership dues are not tax deductible but donations above the amount of the dues may be, depending on your situation. If you would like to donate a little extra to HATDS, look for the donation section on the membership form.
How to Join
Membership forms are available at any dance, or you can download one here in PDF or Word format. Mail it or bring it with you to the next dance.
Annual Meeting
In accordance with state law, HATDS holds an annual meeting of the membership where short "state of the corporation" reports are given and a new board of directors is elected. This meeting usually occurs at a slightly extended break at a dance in May.
