Annual Meeting & Elections
Postponed until June 14, 2008

Want to know more about the Election Procedures? Read On:

Every year at the first dance in May we hold a short Annual Membership Meeting. This meeting, which is required by state law and our bylaws, allows HATDS membership to vote in a new Board of Directors and vote on any amendments to our Bylaws.

The Board of Directors does more than just have wonderful meals together and share anecdotes about contra! The Board actually does a lot of planning and work throughout their tenure. From overseeing the twice monthly dances and various committees to making final decisions on fees and dues. Our expenses and income are tracked, a database of membership info is maintained, and public relations and advertising is laid out, to name several ongoing commitments.

In the weeks leading up to the elections nominations are made for the Board during dances. To nominate someone for election both the nominating and nominee must be current members of HATDS. Which brings up the question: Are you a current member?

We would love for you to consider becoming a member or a renewing member.

How does your membership dues actually benifit you and HATDS? Dues covers yearly administrative costs, such as postage, production of the newsletter and other flyers, our web presence and more. (Our regular dances more or less pay for themselves through admission fees.) By the way, you receive a $2 discount at regular dances if you are a current member.

HATDS' fiscal year is from September 1st through August 31st. A half year membership provision is available for any one (or household) who wishes to join now for the balance of this fiscal year.

Dues for a half year are $10 per individual and $15 for a household. Click here to download a copy of the membership form (Acrobat reader required) OR get one at the sign-in desk at any dance. Just fill it out and hand it to whomever is (wo)manning the desk or mail it to our post office box (the address is on the form).

AND… Thank you for dancing with HATDS, whatever your level of involvement!!!
