Holiday Ball
The Holiday Ball is the annual "celebration dance" of the HATDS community. It is truly a festive event. We decorate the hall, and there is more food and often more people than most of our regular dances.
Since we dress up the hall, we also encourage those attending to dress up for the Holiday Ball. "Dress up" just means wearing something nicer than you would at a regular dance, or adding a festive garnish to your outfit. Some people wear formal attire, but most do something simple.
This year's Ball will
- be held on the first Saturday of December (the 3rd)
- be a longer dance that begins at 7:30 and ends at 11:30
- have a longer break for more socializing
- be held at Heights Presbyterian Church, less than two blocks from our regular hall (click for a map)
- be the only HATDS dance in December.
- feature two bands and two callers
The food at the Ball is always wonderful, thanks to the many people who bring something special to share. We hope that you will be one of them this year!

Socrates learned to dance when he was seventy because he felt that an essential part of himself had been neglected.
