Lodging

Some home hospitality is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Request hospitality through the registration process.

At this point we do not have a recommended motel, or one with which we've negotiated a group rate. If you have one that you'd like us to consider, please email BB10@hatds.org.

The links below open in a new window/tab.

There are several motels near the dance halls. Sokol Hall is in zip 77009; here is a Google search of motels in that zip that will open in a new window. Of these, Best Value Inn (America's Best Value Inn) and Sleep Inn and Suites are probably the best. We can't vouch for any of the others and would avoid some of them. Note that "Western Inn" is not a "Best Western" and you probably do not want to stay there (but if you do stay there, please tell us about it).

Oxford Hall is the 77008 zip and is just west of Sokol. This zip code includes most of the Houston Heights and contains some B&Bs, although they may be booked already for Valentine's. Here is a Google search page for 77008.

Several nicer motels are to be found in the 77092 zip, which is west and northwest of the halls but still just minutes away. Here is a Google search for 77092. Note that there is work being done on the North Loop (the north leg of the I-610 loop) between Hwy 290 and I-45 that may affect travel time to some of these motels by a few minutes.

Downtown hotels are closer than some of the 77092 motels and probably much pricier. If you would like to investigate those, here is a Google search for downtown Houston hotels.

Hall Locations

The main events will be at Sokol Hall again this year and the Sunday brunch at Oxford Hall. Parts of Sokol Hall are being renovated but we do not expect any work to conflict with Bayou Bedlam.

Sokol Hall

1314 Patton, almost at the corner of Airline Dr.

Coming south on I-45

Take the Calvacade exit (first exit south of Loop 610). Continue through the intersection to the stop sign at Patton. Turn right onto Patton. The hall will be on your right just past the city park. You will see a mural on the back side of the building.

Coming north on I-45

Take the N. Main/Houston Ave. exit. Continue straight through the intersection to the stop sign at Patton. Turn left onto Patton. The hall will be on your right just past the city park. You will see a mural on the back side of the building.

Alternately, you could turn left on N. Main from I-45, turn right on Airline (traffic light), and turn right on Patton. The hall will be on your left.
